If I could dream up the perfect client, Danielle and Sean would be it! These two are so easy-going and were more interested in creating a wedding centered around family, love and their marriage than anything else. A marriage that would be built on the sweetest love story – their very first meeting was when they were twelve and Danielle wanted Sean’s autograph (he was a child actor). When they were teens they started dating and Sean would write love letters to Danielle and she kept them all. They ended up parting ways and Danielle moved to Calgary. Years later they connected through Facebook and they hit it off. Before Danielle knew it, Sean was moving to Calgary to be with her. After that they had their baby girl Tov and went on to plan their wedding. One of the letters that Danielle had kept was dated September 12, 1994 so they decided to get married on the twelfth exactly 20 years later.
When we first spoke over the phone it was evident how easy-going and relaxed Danielle was. She told me how her maid of honour was going to surprise her with all the wedding reception decor – now for me, someone who is a control freak, this would have given me a minor stroke, but for Danielle she was happy to let someone else take care of it. The reception space was a complete surprise and nothing was shared with her until hours before she walked down the aisle. And as you can see by the photos, it was incredible! I mean those decorations were HAND-MADE!!! I was blown away and so was Danielle when she saw the finished product – it was an emotional moment to see how much her girls love her and how much she appreciates them.
Their ceremony was equally as special. The space was setup with chairs in a spiral so they were surrounded by everyone they love. And with their daughter in their arms they exchanged vows at sunset. We took photos after the ceremony and then went in to the reception where the night unfolded with hilarious speeches, a heartfelt slideshow, a surprise performance by highland dancers (an ode to Sean’s heritage) and they surprised Danielle’s grandfather with a birthday cake to celebrate his 85th birthday.
