My best friend was supposed to get married this year. Instead she’s been forced to postpone, pivot, adjust, adjust again, and ultimately let go of what she had originally planned for something else next year.
It’s been so heartbreaking to watch but I know that in the end, everything will still be amazing! The new date is just a new date, it doesn’t take away from how special the wedding will be. We will still party too hard and drink too much and I will cry, probably many times. And the thing that matters most is that she gets to marry her favourite person (besides me of course!)
Instead of letting the original wedding date go by like any other day we decided to turn it into a celebration! Andrea and Joel spent the day together, got flowers and treats, and then they met me at Cherry Beach for some fun photos of the two of them at sunset. They included some champagne, got to be extra in love and welcomed all the doggies who came for their photo debut!
It probably wasn’t as special as actually getting married but it was still a wonderful moment and significant memory to capture knowing that they’ve made it through all this together – and at the very least, it helped make a shitty situation seem a little better.
