Both Jessica and Jeff are from Gravenhurst so it was easy to choose Muskoka Bay Club as the location to celebrate their marriage. They fell in love with the relaxed, intimate setting – and it didn’t hurt that Jeff’s favourite pastime is golf. It also doesn’t take much to enhance the beautiful setting at Muskoka Bay Club so they opted to create a romantic space with natural elements, lots of greenery, and the most beautiful florals by Tanya List Design. When it came to inspiration, they wanted to highlight their love of adventure and exploring the world – something that was at the forefront of their relationship, since early on in their relationship they moved to Calgary and then to Perth, Australia for a year. Table numbers were indicated by the various cities they had traveled to and accents like maps, globes and suitcases were used. They also included tons of special touches to honour their family and legacy. Jeff wore his late grandfather’s shoes, Jessica wore a veil passed down by her sister-in-law, she tied her late grandfather’s tie around her bouquet, her grandmother played piano during their ceremony, and her brother’s did readings during the ceremony – oh and their dog got ready with the girls!
On the day of their wedding they opted not to see each other. They had strategically planned how to exchange gifts, coordinate the last minute details, and see family and friends all without running into the other. They wanted to keep that anticipation and excitement for when they’d exchange their vows. It went off without a hitch and when Jessica walked down the aisle beaming with excitement, Jeff couldn’t help but get overwhelmed with emotion in the magnitude of the moment and knowing how lucky he was to marry such an incredible women.
Their reception was full of laughs and fun. From the wedding party’s entrance into the reception space, to the Plinko board her brother (and MC) created for guests to get the couple to kiss – this group was ready to party. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such incredible dance moves before either. There was a makeshift limbo game, guests breaking out all the moves to ‘Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae”, and then everyone singing Backstreet Boys at the top of their lungs. Needless to say, it was a blast. Jessica and Jeff, I’m so happy for you two and I wish you both a lifetime of adventures and hilarious dance parties!
Ok can we talk about this ceremony set up!?! Tanya List created this gorgeous arch and I didn’t think it was possible to make something more beautiful than that view but she sure did it!
Can we just take a moment for this bouquet please! Just jaw-dropping!
When wine bottles match bridesmaid dresses and bouquets!
After the docks, we met family on the golf course for photos overlooking the clubhouse at sunset.
When Jessica was younger, her dad and brothers would sing the Skinnamarink song to her so during her dad’s speech, they all sang it one more time.
Jessica and her dad surprised everyone with a choreographed dance during their father-daughter dance.
