They met at a Ukrainian dance. She said she saw him and thought “hmm he’s cute” and then made a move. Her initiative would continue throughout their relationship because she’s the one who proposed to him – Caitlin decided she didn’t need to follow any traditions and asked Colin to marry her. Now, they both wear engagement rings and are planning their wedding for next spring.
For their engagement photos they really wanted to be outside in nature surrounded by trees and water so what better place than the Scarborough Bluffs. We met there before sunset and started photos up top exploring the various paths and lookouts. After the crowds had died down a bit we went to the beach and walked along the water and to the bottom of the rocks. The cut-out formations are an incredible sight to see and backdrop for photos.
These two are both dancers and their moves definitely came out during their shoot. I rarely had to tell them what to do and instead they just played around, jumped into each other’s arms, or snuggled in close. It was also so easy to see how in love they are with each other, which came across within minutes of being around them. Colin can make Caitlin laugh in a heart beat and Caitlin can give Colin one look to express how she feels. As the sun set we joked around and reenacted their proposal with Caitlin down on one knee on the beach. These two were such a blast to hang out with!
