Angie and Craig are two of the most fun-loving people I have ever met. Their humor is infectious and their families and friends are even bigger goofs than them. They met in university and after they graduated they had to endure long distance but it only made their relationship stronger and solidified that they should be together.
When it came time to plan their wedding, they chose to get married in Mexico, where Angie was born, and had 50 of their closest friends and family join them for a week to celebrate. I had the pleasure of tagging along with my bestie who helped me take photos on their wedding day. We spent the week at Moon Palace Resort in Cancun and had a blast. The resort has incredible amenities and perks (like included room service, meaning pre-ordering your breakfast the night before or late-night guacamole after drinks at the bar!) We spent the week hanging out on the beach, swimming in the (many) pools, enjoying a catamaran day-trip, and drinking “mucho mucho rum piña coladas”.
On the day of the wedding I met with the guys as they got ready. They were all laughs sipping on their gifted scotch from the groom and watching YouTube videos on how to tie a bow-tie (a funny sight I might add). When I met up with Angie she was all giddy and calm as she got ready with her mother and sister. She looked like a princess in her dress (with killer shoes) and even arrived at the ceremony by horse and carriage. Their ceremony was heartfelt with beautiful vows full of love and meaning but right near the end the clouds let loose and it poured! They had planned to have a cocktail hour right by the beach but that all had to be moved inside (luckily the resort acted extremely quick). The best thing about rain in the Caribbean is that it doesn’t last long. After the rain cleared Angie and Craig were the first to lead everyone to the lawn for photos even though the grass was soaked. We ended up with the most beautiful sky after all that rain and lucked out with some photos on the beach.
I have to say that Angie is such a rad bride! (Yes, rad because I don’t know what other word best describes how cool she is). She started her day with a shot of tequila before heading to the hair salon (this girl can drink her tequila!). And she was all smiles and laughs dragging her dress through wet grass and sand. She even jumped over a retaining wall as it was the fastest access to the beach.
This tequila-loving pair threw an amazing reception too. All their friends and family were out on the dance floor and when the venue shut down we all went to the resort’s club to dance the night away. My friend and I even went back to the room to drop off the cameras then went back to the club to keep dancing till the early morning! Their wedding was the perfect start to such an incredible week. We walked away with new friendships and memories that we’ll never forget!
