They started dating three years ago after being friends for years. The credit to who brought them together should go to their horses though. They first met when Holly would bring in her horse, Ace, to have his feet fixed and Johnny was the guy who did it. (I have to point out that this was my second time photographing horses so I have a lot to learn when it comes to the language and terms to use so no judgment ;) My goal is to be a pro by their wedding)
When Johnny proposed to Holly, he made sure the proposal was perfectly ‘them’ – they were on their farm, riding their horses, and he asked her to marry him. For their engagement photos both of them wanted something casual and personal so we met at Holly’s parent’s farm (which is also where they’re getting married) and walked around the property making sure to include their dogs and horses. Anytime I get to photograph my clients with their animals, I’m a happy camper! I also love how this location is so meaningful to them. Not only is it the place where Holly grew up and where they will get married, but Holly’s Grandmother has a house on the property too so it’s a significant place to multiple generations.
You cannot spend one minute with these guys without laughing. If Johnny isn’t making a joke then Holly is. They are both so easy-going and underneath all the jokes and laughs are two people who are so in love, it’s obvious that they have found their perfect match.
To say I’m excited for their wedding would be an understatement – I can’t wait to be back on this property, playing with their dogs and horses, and laughing so much my face hurts!
