This past weekend we celebrated our one year anniversary living in our new condo. It’s crazy to think that 12 months ago we were bar hopping around our old neighbourhood as a last farewell celebration when we got a call from our realtor saying he had our keys. Luckily, we had only made it through one drink so we scrambled to find a zip car so we could pick them up. Moments later we were standing in our dark, empty, new home smiling like kids and in total shock that in less than 24 hours we would be fully moved in. That night we made a few trips moving our things before spending our last night in the place that housed so many memories… our first Christmas together, meals we cooked together -err Robin cooked, countless parties, and our first home as husband and wife.
There’s something about moving that feels like a refresh – you get to leave behind all the cracked cupboards or scratched floors and start new. You get to create new scratches or dents and built new memories. This past year we’ve slowly settled in, creating our perfect space and exploring our new neighbourhood. I love how our home already has our mark on it with it’s imperfections and dents. It’s a place that feels permanent and perfect for us and our little family.
