Oh this is my favourite post of the year! I love going through each photo I’ve taken over the past 12 months and picking out a couple (or bunch since I can’t decide) of some of my favourite moments from each session. It’s one time of the year where I can really look at what I’m doing and be proud. I can put aside the self-doubt and worries and be brought back to photos I forgot I took, photos that instantly bring a smile to my face and make me so happy to be doing what I’m doing. 2015 was a great year where I feel like I found a good rhythm. I perfected processes, felt more confident in decisions, and grew as a person and business. I still have a ton to work on and learn but that’s the fun part of all of this. I’m constantly learning along the way and finding what works for me. This was also the year where I crossed off so many business-bucket-list items. I have wished and wished to photograph a destination wedding and this year I was fortunate enough to photograph four (I’m counting Nova Scotia as destination). It’s an amazing experience to travel somewhere new and spend it with clients and their families. You quickly turn those relationships into friendships and get to know everyone so much better. (I’m just putting it out there into the universe again that I love traveling so if anyone is getting married somewhere far far away I’ll tag along!) This year I was also lucky enough to photograph a surprise wedding (yes this was on my bucket-list!) I couldn’t believe it when I first found out and it turned out better than I could have imagined. I also took on photographing interiors – I’ve always been obsessed with interior decorating and all through university was nick-named the “wannabe interior designer”, so to combine the two passions was a dream. I could go on and on with so many more milestones and moments and incredible people I worked with but I’ll leave it with those three (and besides, this post is already really long!)
I need to shout out the biggest thank you to my clients, vendors and everyone I’ve been able to work with this past year. Your trust, friendship and support means more than you know and I’m so incredibly grateful to know you and to have documented your significant moments. I’m so excited for what 2016 has in store and I can’t wait to dive right in. Here’s to closing another chapter and moving onto the next. Cheers!
