Ohhh I love me an intimate wedding in the city! Ashley and Simon were my first wedding of 2016 and they set the bar high with sentimental vows, unconventional details (I was in love with Ashley’s black engagement ring!) and their infectious smiles. Their wedding was held at George Restaurant which provided a romantic, industrial vibe as well as incredible food for their guests – a big priority for these two. Before their ceremony, they did a first look where they could see each other alone, without any interruptions – just perfect!
Subtle, sentimental details were carried throughout the day such as, a photo of Ashley’s parents from their wedding day was sewn inside her dress and during their ceremony, Ashley and Simon handed their mothers each a single rose – it was evident just how important their families are to them. After their ceremony we took some photos in the courtyard at George and then headed to the Distillery District before their reception. Ashley won my heart when she asked if she could grab a drink before photos – um yes, there’s no question here – and while we took photos, she sipped on an old fashion and even brought it to the Distillery (she’s my spirit animal). To keep warm we stopped into some of their favourite spots – sake at Spring Water Sake and then coffee’s from Balzac’s.
It was a perfect day to celebrate these two. They are so easy-going, fun and the nicest people I’ve met. It was an honour to be a part of their wedding day. The biggest congrats to you Ashley and Simon!
